Inspired by the artwork of Belgian Surrealist painter Rene Magritte, This Is Not a Play questions and exposes the mundane of daily rituals as figures become trapped and search for something in their lives other than the norm.

Wired Youth Theatre originally created the performance as a live site specific festival piece in 2006, The film adaptation presents a montage of images that originate from the live performance and when fused together present familiar landscapes and idiosyncrasies in a fresh and sometimes unsettling way
